SHE

Nope, I'm not gonna talk about my wife today, but will write down something on SHE or HSE (depending who you work for).

Today I went through a surreal experience. Now I have to apologise, I'm very bad in describing real life experience but what happened today was indeed terrifying...... for some people at least.

I was crossing a street (Jalan Binjai to be exact) near Intercontinental Hotel/Menara Citi heading towards Ampang LRT Station, heading back to my office from a meeting. Normal stuff, I was attempting to cross the street by raising your hand to some of the rude drivers to ensure we (with a colleague) can cross safely. Just when we were done crossing, I heard a sound (maybe) but I definitely saw stones/rubbles/glasses/construction material falling down from the sky!!

Imagine stones/glasses falling from a crane from this building!

The falling items were probably couple of meters away from me, but my body automatically tap on my friends shoulder twice (no voice came out from me) and ran towards the LRT station. She stuttered for a second wondering why I started running but started dashing on the same direction when she saw the falling items as pointed out by my finger.

After we kinda reach a safe spot, we were intrigued on the damage done, we pray nobody was walking underneath the incident area. Adrenaline was still pumping into my body, people started gathering around the scene area, and I tried to get a snapshot of the damage (barely!). I don't think anybody could survive the impact even with full PPE on. According to my boss which I bumped into later after that incident, the crane's cable snap whilst transferring items to the site. Seriously???Somebody is in a lot of trouble....

A red car was split into two according to my boss who was inside the hotel during the incident. The fallen pillage covered almost all of the street's width.

Thank god it wasn't my time nor any of the by-passers. We live another with His consent.

According to an acquittance, the same construction side has also been seen hovering a huge concrete beam over the road dangerously during busy lunch time. It is ironic that for a moment I felt safer being on an offshore producing platform rather than walking along the streets such as this OR driving (don't get me started on this topic, more people die on the roads than offshore).

Tips for the day: be vigilant, LOOK UP and UTAMAKAN KESELAMATAN ANDA (dan orang di persekitaran anda damn it!!)
