Cloud Sharing - Tried Them?

First time I heard about this was after I received my new notebook 2 years back. There was a pop-up indicating something about cloud sharing thingie but I ignored it completely. Couple of months ago there was an interview on Malaysia's BFM 89.9 on the same topic. Recently I signed down and utilised a cloud sharing service.

How did it happened?

Well after I purchased my new Android phone (Xperia), I saw a link on Sony-Ericson's website "Free 50gb Space". The timing could have not been better, as I was thinking a safe and secure way to share videos and photos with my mates from other countries (without having to put them in albums like Picase or Youtube). I supposed box.com is one of the many cloud service providers you find on the internet. Now I am able to share my files although limited to documents less than 100mb (easy, just split larger files up with WinRAR OR upgrade to premium user). I find this particularly useful when sharing files with friends and family scattered around the world. Cloud computing itself is something quite broad from what I have read; head to wiki for more info

When I signed down for the free 50gb, I somehow registered using my office email address. It turns out to be a smart move! Now I can invite any of my friends to get the free 50gb online storage space as long as their email addresses end with petronas.com.my. This is quite useful when you HAVE to work out of office and do not want to rely on your office's file sharing facilities (if they are unreliable).

Below is an example of the web interface. It can also be linked to your tablet/smartphone via its apps.

Syncing Multiple Photo Albums (e.g. Facebook to Picasa to Facebook)

As per title, the scenario that I was in: wanting some albums(the actual albums not just the link) from my wife's facebook account to my facebook account. I supposed there are other shorter ways to do this but I found out one method which can be quite handy and can be applied for any other future projects.
1. You need google chrome
2. Download 'Move Your Photos' for your google chrome from their web store for free
3. Log in your wife's facebook.(or your husband, girlfriend/boyfriend maybe?)
4. Press the 'Move Your Photo' button from Google Chrome browser

5. It will prompt you to log in to your webpicasa account
6. Presto! you can choose any albums or ALL from the fb account transferred to your webpicasa (which can be used for blogging etc.)

So you decided to have those albums in your own fb account.
7. Make sure you have the latest picasa installed in your computer.
8. From the webpicasa, you can press some very easy and visible buttons to transfer them to your picasa (on your computer)
9. Finallement, choose the albums/photos you want from picasa to your facebook account!
10. Done, enjoy and go to sleep!

Drive Carefully Please...

WTF?? Seriously how could those motorcyclists get their licenses?Or maybe they have passed the extended JPJ's test, "to stop in the middle of the cross roads with a large yellow cross marked on the box". I know in general drivers in Malaysia would not be as bad as those in India or Egypt but I really hope someday we can make these city riders more civilized!

P.S. My personal experience, Setiawangsa has noticeable amount of uneducated motorists/motorcyclists whilst Subang Jaya/Sunway area has A LOT of rude drivers. Just my opinion....What's yours?

Seriously?

Plumbing ain't so bad

So I've taken the opportunity today to fix two of my drainage/piping issues that have been bugging me for probably about a year now. I did ring a plumber before(after been forced by me wife to do so) but could not managed (or could not bothered) to get one to come to my place in evenings/weekends. Finally I did something on this long CNY weekend.

Plumbing Source: Mostly Mr. DIY (there's on at Jusco Keramat AU, although I got mine from Seremban 2). Spend probably less than RM30 for the new pipings and an additional RM8 when I realised I needed an adjustable wrench. The time taken to complete the job ware probably less than 30 mins.

I know it's not such a big deal at all but I'm happy that I actually managed to apply some of my KH (Kemahiran Hidup) skills that I learned 11 years ago. My kudos go to Cikgu Azmi Rais, Cikgu Rafi and Cikgu Wan Nor Azura :P......

Sunday Gout, Monday Gout No More

My Favourite Green Tea!
Great even without sugar
So as I've mentioned previously, I had a shitty dietary last week, and as a consequence faced mild gout attack on Sunday. Pills usually work v slow on me so I went crazy on many types of fluid to flush my body. To do this I had:
1. A lot of water generally
2. Water + Apple cider vinegar
3. OSK's Green Tea (available from Jaya Jusco)/Tetley's Green Tea with Lemon (Cold Storage/Mercato)
4. More water

Sometimes this green tea tastes like seaweed.
Nothing wrong with that I supposed.

I supposed it might be the combination of drugs ands fluid that recovered me from the pre-gout attack. I also applied the cream painkiller (mine was Voltaren).

Gout sucks...

Welcome to "Wha'eva, I do what I want!!"

Hello all, I intend to use this place to put down things that I want to share with other people. Hence, " I do wha' I want!!". lol.

2 things to update today; number 1, I had a mild gout attack (or should I say gout-ish feeling) today. As much as I try to follow all the tips from the doctors and websites, it is hard to resist hotel buffet lunch especially if it is paid for. One buffet lunch in a week would have been harmless but 4 !!! Not quite sure which food is it this time, I skipped the usual suspects; beef, lamb, shellfish. I did consume a LOT of salmon shashimi.....shouldn't be a problem. Anyway took some pills, drank a lot of water/green tea as well as water mixed with apple cider vinegar. Recovering again now...This was my 2nd attack of the year and it's only January! NOT COOL AT ALL. Damn it. One of my friends' dad bough a RM9K sauna with some infrared technology and he is now free from gout....I'll stick to diet and exercise now until I win one of those contest at petrol station.

2nd update, my BB Curve screen was totally damaged after I dropped it on a wet road. I'm no longer a BBeliever as I've converted to my new Xperia Pro (Android obviously!)
