How did it happened?
Well after I purchased my new Android phone (Xperia), I saw a link on Sony-Ericson's website "Free 50gb Space". The timing could have not been better, as I was thinking a safe and secure way to share videos and photos with my mates from other countries (without having to put them in albums like Picase or Youtube). I supposed box.com is one of the many cloud service providers you find on the internet. Now I am able to share my files although limited to documents less than 100mb (easy, just split larger files up with WinRAR OR upgrade to premium user). I find this particularly useful when sharing files with friends and family scattered around the world. Cloud computing itself is something quite broad from what I have read; head to wiki for more info
When I signed down for the free 50gb, I somehow registered using my office email address. It turns out to be a smart move! Now I can invite any of my friends to get the free 50gb online storage space as long as their email addresses end with petronas.com.my. This is quite useful when you HAVE to work out of office and do not want to rely on your office's file sharing facilities (if they are unreliable).
Below is an example of the web interface. It can also be linked to your tablet/smartphone via its apps.
Lovely!
