Putrajaya 'Fun' Run (8K)

Saturday 26th May. I participated in the Standard Chartered 8k 'Fun' Run in conjunction with the Malaysian Youth day. Woke up quite early that morning and had to disturb Nadia from her sleep as I needed her moral support (and photos near the finishing line :P). It's a shame Nadia never got that photo of me crossing the finishing line as she was standing on the other side where people who did 5k/3k was ending their run :S

It was a great not to mention NEW experience for me! As written in the previous post, the last time I did any kind of 'official' running was probably back in secondary school where we pretty much forced to run for the school's cross country.

Anyhow I have to thank mostly my friends (especially Nasa) and my wife who got me into this. Below are some photos we took after I managed to complete the run in 56mins. Looking forward to the next run!

Running and Endomondo

Shahiburi! It has been a while since I last wrote an entry. Just returned from Japan and had a wonderful trip with Nadia. Anyhow I just finished running and thought I might as well blog whilst cooling down. I hate running, I really hate it. I find it boring and could not bring much excitement to me as much as....Capoeira?

Although I hate running, I have to run for health. As weight gain is associated with higher tendency of gout attacks, activities such as running ought to help me to reduce gout attacks. The only reason why I'm running more than 30 minutes is because I signed down for a couple of running events (2 to be precise- thx to peer pressure from my officemate lol). They are Okay.., one is an 8K 'fun run' whilst the other is a '10K leisure run' for the upcoming Std Chartered Marathon.(Seriously 'fun' and 'leisure'??)

Up till now I only managed to find time for two practice sessions....and the results were identical, abput 54 min for 6.7K. What bothers me now is the blister I had twice on the side of my right foot thanks to the ergonomic design of Nike Lunarglide 3...Maybe I need to get their anti-blister socks as well. Damn Nike!

Anyhow, Melvin one of my office mates suggested Endomondo to track your fitness activities. I supposed the apps is similar to Nike+ on the iPhone. Now that I know I can 6.7K, I'm thinking of changing the route...say from Setiawangsa to KLCC. That's about 6-7K (obviously need to take the LRT and cab back home :P). So if you are up for crazy running stuff, Endomondo is good for you. It tracks your time, distance, altitude, lap time and many more. OR if you are a very busy person and really2 can't be bothered to exercise, get a PB from my wife :P.
